ENACT – Environmental and Clinical Analytics for Non-communicable Disease Prevention
Project co-funded under the Horizon Europe Programme – HORIZON-HLTH-2024-ENVHLTH-02-06

The ENACT project aims to address the growing burden of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) by exploring how environmental stressors—such as air pollution, noise, radiation, and temperature—affect human health. Its ultimate goal is to develop a predictive exposomic risk score and a federated data analytics platform capable of monitoring, predicting, and preventing chronic conditions related to environmental exposures.

To achieve this, ENACT follows a multidisciplinary approach combining environmental science, digital health technologies, and AI-driven data analytics. The project integrates data from clinical, environmental, and socio-economic sources into a secure, privacy-preserving framework aligned with GDPR and the European Health Data Space. Through Living Labs and pilot studies across five EU countries, ENACT engages patients, clinicians, policymakers, and urban planners in co-designing innovative, non-invasive, and preventive healthcare tools.

ENACT is expected to deliver innovative, evidence-based tools that support both clinical decision-making and policy development, ultimately improving prevention, diagnosis, and management of environmentally linked NCDs across Europe.
